A new documentary from HR software company Workday and LeBron James-owned production company SpringHill is shining a light on skills-based hiring — where people are hired based on what they can do, not their formal educational background.
"Untapped: Closing America's Opportunity Gap," a 70-minute film now available on Netflix, follows six young adults in Year Up United’s Career Pathways program working to get internships at Fortune 500 companies. As Axios reports, the documentary showcases each person's story as they progress through the program, alongside commentary from billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban and CEOs like Mary Barra (GM), Jamie Dimon (JPMorgan Chase) and Doug McMillon (Walmart).
