Year Up United Career Connect is a 6-week program (just 2-4 hours each week) that helps community college students learn job skills that employers want, so you can launch your career. Complete the form below to APPLY.

HOW IT WORKS

Flexible Schedule of Workshops

Virtual, interactive workshops are held at different times during the week, so you can join even with a busy schedule. Topics include confidence, motivation, personal branding, and growth mindset.

Online Community Engagement

Connect with other students and the program leaders during and between sessions. This builds a strong community and helps you hone your skills.

Learning Hub for Resources

Use the Career Connect hub to find helpful tools and resources. You can also participate in challenges and share your progress with the group. Students have access to the hub during the program and for 8 weeks after.

WHO CAN APPLY

If you are enrolled with one of our Career Connect college partners, you are eligible.
If you are 18 or older and are planning to pursue a career after finishing your program (degree or certificate) at a U.S. community college, you can also apply.
Participants should be available for 2-4 hours/week during the duration of the 6-week program.

Note: Career Connect is a distinct program within Year Up United’s young adult training offerings. It is completely separate from Year Up United’s Career Pathways job training program, which is full time, hybrid, and can last up to a year— requiring a larger time investment from participants. Career Connect is designed specifically to fit the needs and schedules of college students, offering you flexibility while supplementing your education with the career readiness skills that will prepare you for your next step.

KEY DATES

Career Connect sessions are held three times per year in the spring, summer, and fall. Here are the details for our next session:

Registration Deadline: May1

Complete your registration form by this date to be able to attend a kickoff session.

Kickoff Sessions: April 27

The kickoff is a one-hour session covering program expectations, portal navigation, and Q&A. Register for and attend one kickoff session to fulfill your enrollment requirements.

Program Begins: Week of May 4

The 6-week program begins, with two topics offered each week. All enrollment requirements must be completed to participate.

Final Enrollment Deadline: May 1

All enrollment requirements must be completed by this date to join the Spring 2026 cohort of Career Connect.
