Garrett Moran (Chair)

Garrett Moran was most recently chair of the Governor’s Workforce Council in Connecticut after serving as co-chair of Gov. Ned Lamont’s transition. Previously, he spent six years as president of Year Up, a national nonprofit organization that provides technical and life skills training to low-income high school graduates who are not employed or enrolled in an educational institution.

Before joining Year Up, Moran was the COO of Blackstone’s Private Equity Group, overseeing the group’s day-to-day operations and playing a senior role in its investment processes. Earlier, he served as president of MMC Capital and spent 20 years at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he was vice chairman and co-head of the Banking Group.

Moran has served on several boards, including The Partnership for Education Advancement, Middlebury College, the Posse Foundation, the Blackstone Foundation, and as chairman of the Brunswick School’s Board of Trustees. He received a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
